This is a very popular complete kit used to upgrade the stock charging system on early vehicles where increased capacity is needed. The Alternator, Power Wire and Conversion Kit are included.
This unit will produce 60 amps at idle (2000 alternator shaft rpm) 120 amps maximum (6000 alternator shaft rpm) the stock belt can be used on original equipment vehicles. All units are 100% NEW and come complete with internal voltage regulator and 1V single-groove pulley, each is tested at time of assembly. This kit contains the required upgraded main power wire (due to higher output than stock) for vehicles where the battery is still in the stock location, and a conversion harness to allow this internally regulated alternator to work on the older vehicle.
Two options are available: (select from the list when ordering)
1. Use WITH Stock wiring; select this if you want to keep the metal box (voltage regulator) wiring and harness
2. Use NO Stock wiring; select this for a kit car / race car or any vehicle where you do not have the stock wiring, or you want to eliminate the stock wiring harness
Applications: 1965-1978 Mustang V-8, most early externally regulated vehicles with a 1-V Pulley.
