    Product Description

    This is a substantial power upgrade for the 2005-2008 Mustang GT. This is the same size as the stock case and will directly bolt up with no modifications.  This unit will increase the charging capacity at all RPM Ranges with NO modifications BUT the Upgrade Power Cable is REQUIRED due to the amount of output it produces.  Stock cables will not safely carry the load. 100+ amps at idle (2000 alternator shaft rpm) 200+amps maximum (6000 alternator shaft rpm) The stock belt can be used on original equipment vehicles.  Starting in 2005 the alternator was controlled by the PCM, this is compatible with the Ford computer and in some cases will eliminate the cam position sensor code error.

      alternator upgrade

      All I can say is I've had it in for a few days now. Mustang runs great. Installment was a breeze. Along with a new deep cycle battery seems to power my stereo system just fine. I still may need to run another battery though. I like it loud and after a certain decibel it does drain the battery slightly. So far if I keep the volume 23 and under no problem. After 24 or 25 is when it's just to much power when running it for to long. Sometime you just want to push it though. Ha ha.

      I've been having issues with my Mustang chewing through alternators repeatedly. I even bought a "200AMP" Alternator ordered through Napa, which was technically rated at 187 Amps, the car blew through that. I ordered a 225 Amp through Powermaster, and it only charged intermittently... My first pleasure was opening the box, and being greeted by a stunning Candy Apple Red Chrome casing. Not only is this part gorgeous, but it's actually solved my voltage problems. I will likely buy another one for my other mustang!
